We’re on the lookout a Senior Underwriter to join our Commercial Lines team. This role is an opportunity to be a part of our newly established networks team. A team set up to focus on growing accounts with our key strategic partners. The team look after Commercial Combined, Property Owners, Motor Trade Combined and Fleet business.The role is a hybrid role, therefore will involve a mix of working from home and also from our Manchester office. What will I be doing?
Support profitable development of the Mid-Market Commercial Combined and Property Owners account by underwriting bespoke commercial risks that align to the Covea strategy and appetite.Develop and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with a panel of Network brokers as their nominated underwriter.Develop and support Covea’s commercial lines account by engaging and encouraging new and existing relationships with Network brokersProspect and actively contribute to the growth targets of the team optimising sales and retention.Take ownership of large & complex cases and work proactively with the broker to negotiate the right outcome.Maintain an accurate audit trail using Covéa Insurance’s systems, practices and procedures.Underwrite within Covea strategy and authority limits and refer all cases outside of strategy or individual limits.Maintain and endeavour to exceed, agreed service levels to both internal and external customers.Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of:The commercial lines marketThe regional broking marketplaceLegislation and litigation which could affect the writing of businessBe a strong referral point for your team, providing technical assistance and guidance to junior colleagues. What would we like to see in you? Experience in underwriting and trading mid-market Commercial Combined and Commercial Combined and Property Owners broker market.Excellent communication skills with the ability to positively influence key stakeholdersDemonstrate ability to negotiate and influence through use of effective trading skills.Motivated, driven and adapts to change positively displaying a can do attitude.Willingly provides help and support to others and has the ability to work cooperatively with others.A team player, who is highly collaborative, empowering, and good at establishing and maintaining relationships with brokers and other internal stakeholders.You should have a strong customer service ethos, continuously and proactively looking to improve the quality of service provided to all customers.A confident decision maker who brings a strong and decisive approach to underwriting commercial risks.
