All roles can flex at IFM Investors and we’re happy to discuss what this can look like for you.The RoleThe role involves the maximisation of net returns to investors in relation to investment transactions (greenfield and brownfield projects), asset management, product development and fund raising. The role involves integration with the investment and fundraising teams, with the Commercial Associate bringing legal and commercial experience primarily to transactions and asset management.Responsibilities include:Assist in the provision and coordination of non-investment services to IFM clients and for IFM products, including:Legal advice, negotiation and due diligence with respect to investment transactionsLiaison with external legal, tax and audit providersEnsuring that the legal position and financial interests of IFM and IFM managed products are protected and advanced in all contracts, financial instruments and service agreementsContributing towards meeting statutory and regulatory compliance requirements for IFM managed products / clientsActive participation in-company client/external audit/legal relationshipsPresents and gains acceptance of proposals and solutionsManage individual workstreams and small to medium size projects with appropriate oversightResponds to queries within policies and guidelinesDelivers accurate and efficient transactional services within procedural guidelinesAble to understand and influence and escalates issues as appropriateProvides leadership on legal and regulatory issues and contribute to continuous improvementSmooth interaction with internal customers and colleagues Demonstrates a high level of personal integrityYour Background and ExperienceAt least a minimum of 4 plus years of relevant experience gained at a law firm or in-house equivalent Gained previous related experience in infrastructure project finance, EPC, offtake, construction agreements, shareholder and other equity documents; finance structures and documents; related tax and regulatory matters.A period of in-house or secondment experience in a relevant organisation advantageousExperience working on transaction/bid processesQualified lawyer admitted to practice in the UK or Australia.Sound financial and commercial acumenUnderstanding of relevant legal documentation and conceptsStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to negotiate and influence key stakeholdersKeen desire to understand the wider business contextPossess a can-do, hands-on attitudeShow strong initiative - ability to proactively identify issues and progress tasksTeam player who is willing to assist others as/when required, and work collaboratively with the broader businessStrong work ethic – ability to work to deadlines, under pressure and to manage and prioritise multiple tasksReady to invest in what matters?With IFM, that includes your own career.
