Commercial Account Handler
Stocksbridge, Sheffield
Actus is looking to recruit an experienced Commercial Account Handler to join our forward-thinking team located at the Fox Valley Retail Park in Stocksbridge, Sheffield. Having grown substantially since starting out in 2017, this is an ideal opportunity for a motivated and ambitious individual to join a team focussed on providing first class coverage with a truly personal service to clients whilst minimising jargon and red tape far more than traditional brokerages.
The role:
Working alongside the directors and the existing team to support the continued growth of the business, the Commercial Account Handler will prepare submissions and negotiate with insurers to achieve the right outcome for the clients and ourselves. With support from the directors, you will review client requirements to ensure that their insurance programmes are suitable and relevant. Part of the role will be to effectively communicate this information as part of a client facing report. As the first point of contact for customers, the role involves dealing with their day-to-day queries effectively and efficiently whilst building rapport and developing relationships. As an experienced handler, you will also act as a mentor for current and future apprentices within the business to enhance their skills and develop leadership skills of your own. There will also be progression opportunities to develop into a client facing role over time for the right individual.
The person:
We are looking for a person who has a positive attitude to work and displays resilience during some tough times in the insurance market. As an adaptive and receptive team player, you will use your initiative and challenge assumptions to find solutions. You will need an engaging communication style and be confident and articulate in the written word. Having had a minimum of two years broking experience, you will have a strong understanding of the insurance market and products with the ability to communicate this to clients and trainees alike. A working knowledge of the Acturis platform is essential. Ideally, you will already have achieved a Cert CII and be working towards a DIP CII or willing to. You will also have maths and English GSCE grade C or above. Previous experience working with commercial customers paying between £5,000 to £50,000 preferred
