Armourer Trainer/Weapons Engineer

As an Armourer Trainer at the Defence College of Technical Training, based at MOD Lyneham, you'll play a crucial role in shaping the next generation of military professionals.
The Role:
Step into a dynamic role that's anything but ordinary. Join a team of skilled professionals delivering military apprentice courses to Army students, empowering them with the knowledge to excel in their chosen trade. Your responsibilities will span from hands-on engineering work on Army Weapons to becoming a certified teacher, delivering theory and practical training modules. Key responsibilities include:
Conducting engineering tasks on Army Weapons, from stripping and assembling to diagnosing faults.
Receiving Teacher Training and gaining Level 4 teaching certification.
Delivering theory training and practical sessions on weapon maintenance, repair, and modification.
Crafting examination papers and assessment scenarios, ensuring student development through feedback and interventions.
Maintaining documentation, developing teaching materials, and upholding Health and Safety standards.
Requirements:
Essential:
Experience as a Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (REME) Armourer, Navy Weapons Engineer, or RAF/Police Armourer.
Strong craft and technical skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and encourage others.
Qualifications:
Level 3 Engineering qualification OR significant experience with Weapons/Armaments.
Willingness to pursue Teacher Training certification Level 4 upon commencement.
