SF are partnering with a well known business in Warwickshire, who are looking to transform their Finance function, to a high performing team. They are looking to bring in talented individuals who want to get involved in the project, which will include system automation and new credit/collection techniques and procedures.
The business are looking to reward the team with a new bonus structure and study support.
Purpose of The Job:
The primary purpose of this role is to manage a specialized ledger, focusing on all aspects of contentious credit management. This includes obtaining payment for overdue invoices by professionally contacting customers and as required, initiating collection via the County Court system. The role's key focus is to achieve and exceed Key Performance Indicators.
What we're looking for:
2 years of experience in debt collection.
A minimum grade of C/4 in English and Maths at GCSE level or equivalent.
Proficiency in collecting debt via the County Court system.
Proficiency in IT, including a strong working knowledge of Excel.
Ability to work towards targets.
A team player, capable of collaborating effectively to achieve team KPI goals.
Excellent communication skills, both internally and externally, with strong negotiation abilities.
Highly organized with effective day-to-day activity management.
Initiative-driven, taking proactive measures to drive activity.
Strong prioritization skills.
High attention to detail.
Problem-solving attitude.
What you'll do:
Manage a personal ledger of accounts.
Contact customers to confirm receipt of invoices and recover overdue amounts using various communication methods, including phone and email. Process payments when applicable.
Respond to customer requests related to debt collection and provide guidance to customers.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, allowing colleagues in the wider business to gain insights into the status of customer accounts.
Escalate queries to the business that hinder debt recovery.
Negotiate and validate payment plans with customers as needed.
Escalate collection actions to the next level in accordance with the company credit cycle when initial attempts do not result in payment and no query has been raised.
Follow established policies and procedures to enable supply decisions regarding customers who do not fulfil payment obligations.
Collect debts via the County Court system.
Notify the Lead of any relevant issues as they arise.
Prepare accounts for external debt agents to pursue when internal collection efforts have been exhausted.
Proactively identify and monitor accounts in the assigned ledger.
Stay vigilant for deteriorating payment trends among customers and ensure necessary credit checks are performed.
Report key indicators to your Lead on a monthly basis.
Working hours are 8.30-5.00, with 1 in 4 Saturday mornings and one late evening rota (37.5 hours). The role id office working for 4 days and one day from home.
