The Roof Gardens were originally created in the Art Deco period and opened in 1933. In the late 60's the building was taken over by fashion powerhouse Biba and was the pulse of Swinging London. 100 ft high above Kensington High Street, set across 3 floors with over an acre of gardens, The Roof Gardens will be a next generation members club that is future-facing, committed to innovation and community, to discovery and to delight. The club will open in Spring/Summer 2024 as a world-leading members’ club affording its community beautiful gardens, bars, restaurants and events spaces alongside a visionary cultural and music programme.
The Role
We are looking for a Cocktail Waiter/Waitress to join our team. As a member of our front-of-house service team, you will be helping deliver a world class service alongside a highly trained, charismatic team whose collective goal is to deliver excellence to our members.
You will be proud to uphold the club’s service standards and help build the reputation of The Roof Gardens. We seek somebody with solid experience in high-end food and beverage service environments, an impeccable demeanour, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. You should have a great eye for detail too and be conscientious in the execution of your duties.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations & Service:
Assist with day-to-day restaurant and bar operations including, welcoming guests warmly and creating a positive first impression, taking orders and processing payments through POS system, serving food and drinks, and assisting guests with various needs. Maintain high personal standards and behaviour throughout your shift upholding team standards and culture. Foster teamwork and contribute to club operations, staying actively present and reporting any comments, feedback, or complaints to management to further guest experience.
Compliance, Health & Safety:
Maintain a clean and organised lounge area. Ensure adherence to health & safety, hygiene, and licensing regulations to maintain safe working conditions for all the team.
Skills & Requirements:
Experience working as Waiting team in a private members club, luxury or high end F&B environment
A commitment to always providing excellent customer care and intuitive service
A great memory for names and faces
You will need to be an excellent communicator with a good command of spoken and written English
You will possess a friendly characterful demeanour and take genuine pleasure in supporting your colleagues
Enthusiasm and lots of energy coupled with the ability to remain composed under pressure
A punctual, reliable, and resilient team player who wants to be challenged and developed, and is willing to undertake training
Familiarity with POS systems beneficial
Desire to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
