Co-ordinator Review & Child Protection

Opus People Solutions on Behalf of Walsall Council have an exciting opportunity for a Social worker to join their Co-ordinator Review & Child Protection Team.
This Role will be hybrid with Working from home where possible, however you will need to travel to Child Protection conferences and CIC reviews which are held either at the offices or within placements.
This role will include:

• To take responsibility for ensuring the Local Authority discharges its duty to provide a quality social work and reviewing service to children who may have, or may need a child protection plan and looked after children.

• Chair child protection conferences and looked after children's reviews in accordance with the Children Act 1989, Children & Adoption Act 2002, Children Leaving Care Act 2000 and Children Act 2004, Working Together 2018, Care Planning and Placement regulations 2011, the IRO handbook and the Family Justice Review 2011.

• Ensure that child protection plans and care plans are developed and reviewed to ensure good outcomes for children and young people.

• Provide consultation to the wider service and partner agencies about child protection and care planning.

• Ensure that children, young people and family members are appropriately informed of procedures and processes and are supported and encouraged to make a full and active contribution to meetings
