Metalis are working with a specialist metrology company looking to recruit a CNC technician working on a days regular shift pattern.

The Role:

The CNC Technician will be required to set, adjust, and operate Fanuc controlled CNC machines to perform precision turning & milling operations on small batches ranging from 50-off to 1000-off parts.
Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines.
Read engineering drawings and understand the specifications and tolerancing.
Study sample parts, drawings, and engineering information to determine methods and sequences of the operations needed to produce products.The candidate:

Formal mechanical and manufacturing engineering qualification (or equivalent) or time-served apprenticeship
Previous experience working on Turn / Mill or Mill / Turn Multi-Axis Machines
Experience in a similar high precision environment, with proven understanding of CNC machinist responsibilities.
Experience machining ferrous and non-ferrous metals including steel, aluminium and brass.
Previous experience of operating Nakamura, Citizen sliding head or DMG MORI mill / turn machines is preferred but not essential.
Ability to read technical /engineering drawings with a good understanding of tolerancing/geometrical tolerancing.
Excellent level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Methodical & logical approach to work.
Team Player & able to work on own initiative
Good time management and organisational skills;
Good communication / interpersonal skills;
