Cnc Miller Programmer Setter Operator

Zenith People are proud to be working with our Client on a new exciting role. Our client are award-winning, family owned company specialising in the high precision machining and pressing of parts and sub assemblies for the aerospace, industrial, and other high-technology sectors.

FUNCTION

The purpose of the CNC Miller Operator role is to produce precision machined components for suppliers of the Aerospace and Commercial industry by programming, setting and operating a variety of CNC milling machines. The position reports into the CNC Milling Team Leader

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

* Programme, set and operate any of the mills to meet the production schedule and agreed targets

* To ensure orders are completed to the correct standard, within budget and on time

* To work from customer drawings and specifications to produce programs to the company standard format

* Routine inspections, maintenance, cleaning and fault finding and recording of machinery and equipment operated in accordance with documented procedures

* Proactive and reactive reporting of faults/defects, in a timely manner to the Team Leader to anticipate/minimise downtime

* Removal of scrapped/waste materials to designed areas

* Accurately and timely recording of:

* Output and hours utilised

* Scrapped/waste materials

* Other production/quality related documentation

* Actively monitor working practices and provide feedback to improve efficiencies and job profitability

* Maintain a clean and manageable work area

OTHER DUTIES

* This role regularly requires long periods of sitting and standing and use of hands to operate electronic equipment. It will also require reaching with hands and arms as well as stooping or kneeling. Work may also occasionally involve lifting of materials and products

* Assist colleagues where required (e.g. Apprentices, etc)

* Ensure all safety rules and standards are adhered to

* Ensure correct Personal Protective Equipment is worn at all times when required in line with company procedures

* Commitment and ongoing support to the company’s LEAN programme

* To comply with the Company’s Absence Management policy

* To provide holiday/absence cover for other roles/tasks as and when required

* To fulfil any other duties as required for your job role

* Driving licence and flexibility to travel to other sites as and when required

* Flexibility to work shifts as and when required

EDUCATION

• Previous experience of working in a similar role within a manufacturing environment

• Basic programming skills in Haas, Heidenhain or Mazatrol essential

• Read and understanding of engineering technical drawings and instructions desirable

• Previous experience of using MRP systems desirable

• Process improvement experience desirable
