Job Title: CNC Machinist - Programmer, Setter & Operator
Location: Pyle
Salary: £19 per hour PAYE (£38,500 per annum)
Duration: Temp to Permanent (12 weeks agency)
Hours: Full time 39 hrs Monday - Friday

We are working with an engineering workshop who are actively looking for an experienced Machinist to operate and program CNC millers and lathes in their busy engineering workshop on the outskirts of Bridgend.

This vacancy provides an exciting opportunity to be part of a well-established and growing company that produces quality specialist machined fabrications from "one-offs" to batch production. You would work mainly with metals, but you could also deal with composite materials and plastics. Most of the parts you make would be for use on internal manufacturing and assembly. Currently the majority of the workload is with Stainless and Mild steel however as a subcontractor this is always subject to change.

Successful candidate must also have experience of manual machining practices and aspects of production workshop engineering component manufacture. Work comprises mainly of CNC milling but also some CNC lathe turning.

Your typical duties would include:

  • CNC Milling
  • CNC Turning
  • Hands on programming
  • General housekeeping
  • Checking that work meets quality and technical standards
  • Routine maintenance.

Would suit: Hands on experienced machinist with personal improving goals. Starting salaries can be around £38,500 a year. All figures quoted are intended as a guideline only the rate applied will be determined by ability and negotiated prior to agreed employment.

Required experience:

  • CNC Machinist: 3 years relevant experience.
  • Must be time-served
  • Siemens Shopmill / Shopturn experience is desirable.
  • Must be able to programme.
  • Must be able to read from engineering drawings.
