We are recruiting on behalf of a leading manufacturing company in the plastics industry for a CNC lathe Programmer.



We are looking for a CNC Lathe Programmer with expertise in the plastics industry to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in programming, operating, and maintaining CNC lathes specifically tailored to plastic materials. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to optimize machining processes for efficiency and quality.





2 available shift options:




  • Days Monday - Thursday 8am - 4.30pm Friday 8am - 3.30pm.

  • Evening shift Monday - Thursday 4.30pm -2.30am





Working in a subcontract environment, the ideal candidate must be a confident programmer/setter that can work under their own initiative.





Key Responsibilities




  • Program, set up, and operate CNC lathes to produce high-quality plastic components according to engineering drawings and specifications.

  • Develop and optimize machining processes to maximize efficiency, minimize waste, and ensure consistent quality.

  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of CNC lathe equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.

  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to provide input on design for manufacturability and process improvements.

  • Conduct thorough quality inspections of machined components to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards. Document programming, setup, and production processes for future reference and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.



Experience




  • Experience with plastic not necessary but a bonus.

  • Proven experience programming and operating CNC lathes in a manufacturing environment, with a focus on plastics.

  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, SolidWorks) for programming CNC machines.

  • Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling selection, and cutting parameters for plastic materials.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues independently.

  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.

  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and manufacturing processes.
