We are looking for an experience Infrastructure engineer working at a mid to senior level. You will be working within a distributed, agile team, to support the development and hosting of our products. As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will contribute to the wider team by ensuring that our infrastructure is scalable, reliable, and fit for purpose.
You will be supporting the wider Engineering function by enabling other Engineers to perform their role, contributing to; and maintaining documentation, helping to improve processes and respond to requests from other business areas and our customers.
Operational
·
Work within the wider Engineering team consisting of: Software Engineers, Infrastructure Engineers, QA Engineers, Solutions Architect and Support Engineers to design, provision and maintain infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code, configuration management tools and effective monitoring tools.
·
Encourage, support, and enforce development, server management and information security best practices throughout the team and wider organisation.
·
Assist the engineering team to improve security, quality, and time to market of our products.
·
Help to build and maintain the automated CI and build pipelines.
·
Work as part of an on-call rota for out of hours maintenance and unexpected downtime.

Essential
·
Ability to troubleshoot independently and as part of a team.
·
Willingness to continually learn and adapt to changing technologies and industry practices.
·
Demonstratable experience of working in a commercial environment preferably in a Software House or supporting multiple Software Development teams, working in a DevOps or SRE type role.
·
Strong experience of using infrastructure-as-code in Terraform to provision, scale, and manage infrastructure.
·
Strong experience of using and maintaining GIT Repositories (GitLab/GitHub/Azure DevOps)
·
Firm understanding of the deployment, scaling, and security of cloud services (AWS and Azure) via automation pipelines.
·
Strong experience in scripting and automation (Bash / Python).
·
Confident with the deployment, management, and maintenance of Server OSs (Linux and Windows based)
·
Confident in Command Line (mainly Linux/MacOS)
·
Understanding of programming, networking, and information security principles.
·
Understanding of technical ideation and experience of explaining technical solutions/problems clearly and plainly to other members of the team and the wider business.
·
Understanding of SQL and PostgreSQL
·
A strong ability to communicate in both spoken and written English.
Desired
·
Experience of managing CI/test infrastructure and services.
·
Experience of working in an agile development team, ideally with a distributed workforce.
·
Degree level education in a Computing or Software related subject (Demonstratable industry experience, vendor certifications or vocational qualifications will be considered).
·
Knowledge of Regulatory/Industry Frameworks focusing on Information Security such as ISO 27001, HIPPA, PCI
·
Experience of working in or with Educational Institutions
Essential Criteria
·
Ability to pass Enhanced DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service) Clearance
·
Ability to pass NPPV (Non-Police Personnel Vetting)
·
Further Security Clearances may be required in the future.

This is a full-time, permanent role and will predominantly be remote based however you must be based and eligible to work in the UK. There may also be occasional travel to other office locations which may include international travel.
