We are looking for Clinical Psychologists or final year Trainee Clinical Psychologists with an interest in clinical health psychology and the impact of living with a respiratory condition. You may have experience of working with physical health problems with either children/families or adults, or experience of working in child and adolescent or adult mental health services with a keen interest and desire to apply that knowledge to work in an acute trust. The post-holder will join the Children's Respiratory Service at the Nottingham Children's Hospital (QMC). Children and young people experiencing respiratory conditions can experience a range of psychological difficulties. Psychological distress can also exacerbate their respiratory condition and physical symptoms. As a psychologist working in the service, you will provide a specialist clinical psychology service for children/young people to help them better manage psychological distress and obtain better treatment outcomes. We would welcome applications from newly qualified psychologists, or 3rd Year Trainees due to qualify in 2024.Main duties of the jobThe main duties of the role will involve working closely with the multidisciplinary Children's Respiratory Team. You will work with children and young people through consultation to staff, direct work and by attending multidisciplinary clinics. Your base will predominantly be at the Children's Hospital QMC campus. You will be part of a welcoming and growing Clinical Psychology Department which incorporates specialisms in Paediatric Psychology, Adult Medical Psychology and Child and Adult Neuropsychology.About usThere are opportunities for continued professional development and clinical supervision is well provided for within the paediatric clinical psychology team. Completed (or due to complete in 2023/24) postgraduate doctoral level DClinPsy in clinical psychology as accredited by the BPS Current HCPC registration for Clinical Psychologist (or eligibility to qualify for registration in 2024) Evidence of continuing professional development as recommended by the BPS/HCPC
Desirable
Post-doctoral training in one or more additional specialised areas of psychological practice
