Job Description
As a registered and authorised supplier to the NHS, Direct Medics are working with Psychology professionals throughout the UK & Ireland to help them find new and exciting opportunities.
As such, Direct Medics are working in partnership with clients to find experienced and dedicated Band 8a level Psychologists to fulfill roles in the Somerset NHS Foundation Trust. The position offers an exciting opportunity to deliver specialist psychological services to patients with stroke, linking closely with established multidisciplinary teams, and working across the care pathway. There are opportunities for both inpatient and outpatient work. This post will suit you if you are an individual who enjoys neuropsychological assessments, psychological therapy, consultation, supervision, training, service development and research/audit. An ability to work with the wider system (e.g. non-statutory organisations, acute hospitals) is essential.
The contract for this role will start on the 1st September 2024 and run to the 31st December 2024 with the possibility of extension.
To be considered you must have the following:
• Current HCPC registration as a Clinical/Counselling Psychologist
• Post-graduate doctorate in clinical or counselling psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996 or those in lateral transfer) as accredited by the BPS
• Psychological therapy experience with patients with stroke/brain injury/physical health conditions • Significant neuropsychology experience in neurological rehabilitation
•Supervision training and experience with range of staff and professions
• Have the right to live and work in the UK
