A local acute service has a fantastic opportunity for a Pharmacist to join them in a progressional Clinical Pharmacist role – a role that will see you train, develop, and find your niche at a hospital with a proven track record of developing staff and excellent support system in place for new staff as well as advanced digital technology.

As a Clinical Pharmacist, you will deliver excellent patient care as you undertake 4-month rotations across a variety of core clinical areas, gaining expertise in medicines management services (information and optimisation) as you go. Your core rotations will include:


  • General medicine
  • Surgical medicine
  • Complex care
  • Acute admissions

You’ll have access to significant development opportunities throughout, opportunity to gain your clinical diploma and Independent Prescribing qualification, as well as to contribute to service improvement projects. Upon programme completion and the suitable demonstration of your clinical capability, you will be eligible for progression into a Senior Clinical Pharmacist role.

This is a full-time role (37.5h) with regular weekends, late-nights, and on-call duties required (rota system). Part-time may also be accommodated at a minimum of 22.5 hours per week.

Person specification:


  • (Essential) Accredited MPharm degree or OSPAP qualification
  • (Essential) Registration with the GPhC as a Pharmacist
  • (Essential) Good team player and strong communication skills
  • (Desirable) Previous experience within a hospital pharmacy setting
