Clinical or Counselling Neuropsychologist Development Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a clinical or counselling psychologist to undertake a development post from 8a to 8b to work towards leading psychological interventions in our stroke teams in Worcestershire. The post is up to 4 days. They will support the development of a matched care approach with an emphasis on multi-disciplinary working and psychological consultation. They will be experienced in the use and interpretation of neuropsychological and psychological assessments, MDT working, specialist delivery of psychological, vocational and neuropsychological interventions as well as supervision, consultation, teaching and training. The psychology team is very supportive and has lots of development opportunities. We have previously supported clinicians in the trust to complete their QICN. To find out more please contact ##### Consultant Clinical NeuropsychologistMain duties of the job Providing clinical expertise and leadership in the psychological and cognitive needs of people following a stroke and their families and contributing to a culture of support and collaboration both in the service and with partner agenciesProviding direct clinical work including assessment, rehabilitation and therapy with individuals, their families and the wider system, drawing on a range of therapeutic approaches guided by client needsConsultation and guidance to the wider team and networks is integral including facilitating case discussion and care planning to support patient goalsContributing to service development, teaching, and training Supervision will be provided by an experienced Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist and funding opportunities and supervision is available to those wishing to pursue the Qualification in Clinical Neuropsychology (QiCN) About usAt Herefordshire and Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust, we are working together to deliver outstanding care. BSc/BA Honours degree at 2:1 or above in psychology Post graduate Doctorate in Clinical/Counselling Psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996) as accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS) Post qualification training in specific, evidence based techniques for use with clients with complex psychological presentations and/or physical health difficulties, across the age span Evidence of regular further professional training and experience as required by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the BPS Eligible for registration as a Chartered Psychologist (Clinical or Counselling) by the BPS Eligible for registration as a Practitioner member of the BPS Division of Clinical/Counselling Psychology Registered with HCPC as a Clinical/Counselling Psychologist I understand that I will be asked to provide original certificates to verify my qualifications at point of offer
ExperienceEssential
Experience required specific to the role and clinical area A minimum of 2 years of experience working as a qualified Clinical/Counselling Psychologist within the relevant area Sufficient training and experience to be recognised by the Division of Clinical/Counselling Psychology as a suitably qualified psychologist to offer clinical placements to trainee Clinical/Counselling Psychologists Training and experience in the application of psychological knowledge within a number of different specialties Experience of assessing and providing a wide range of psychological interventions to patients presenting with the full degree of clinical severity and across a range of clinical mental health presentations Experience of conducting clinically relevant research

Experience of strategic planning and service development
Experience of teaching and training psychologists in a Clinical/Counselling Psychology doctorate training course
Experience of leading in relation to the development and organisation of psychological interventions within a given clinical area
Skills & AbilitiesDesirable
Able to think strategically to consider the wider picture for developing specialist services long term and planning developments, which may impact across agencies
