Role: Clinical Governance and Risk Business Partner
Location: Remote with travel when required to our sites and our Head Office in High Wycombe
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000
As the Clinical Governance and Risk Business Partner, you will support the operational delivery and implementation of lnHealth's governance and risk frameworks.
  • Provide advice, support and guidance to operational teams on all aspects of Healthcare governance Including:
  • Clinical and non-clinical
  • Risk management
  • Patient safety
  • Health and Safety
  • Provide support for CQC Registered Manager’s and CQC registrations.
  • Provide Governance support to the new CDC development.
Support the implementation of quality improvement activities aimed at improving patient or organisational safety.
Support operational managers in evidencing compliance with applicable regulatory and professional standards.
Provide a visible and accessible governance support to allocated business areas.
Identify areas of non-compliance and support operational manager in the creation and implementation of appropriate remedial action plans.
Support the organisation in achieving its goal of making healthcare better for our patients.
What you are responsible for:
To act as a governance and risk “business partner” to an allocated area of the business coordinating all aspects of governance and patient safety including but not limited to:
Risk Management
  • Support the implementation of the organisations Risk Management module and policies under direction of the Head of Clinical Governance and Risk.
  • Provide support and guidance to relevant staff within the division in undertaking risk assessment and demonstrating measurable risk reduction and control.
Adverse Event Management
  • Ensure robust management of adverse events reported through the organisations electronic incident reporting system.
  • Supporting managers in undertaking patient safety incident investigations in line with the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF) investigations to ensure theproduction of credible investigation reports which make realistic recommendations for improvement.
  • Participating in and supporting the identification and initial management of actual or
  • potential incidents that will require a patient safety incident investigation (PSII)
  • Supporting the delivery of training on the reporting and management of incidents to frontline operational staff and managers
  • Take a leading role as deputy Chair in the weekly Complaints, Litigation, Incidents and Complaints (CLIC) meeting and Patient Safety Review Group Meeting.
  • Provide input and support to the monthly CLIC newsletter.
  • To ensure that required agencies are notified of all patient safety incidents within required timescales.
  • Provide information to the monthly Executive Report.
Complaints management
  • Providing guidance and mentorship to the Complaints and Compliance Coordinator in the management of stage 1 complaints ensuring appropriate risk assessment is undertaken following receipt of complaints.
  • Supporting operational managers in achieving early and effective resolution of complaints and concerns raised.
Audit / Clinical effectiveness
  • Undertake regular service compliance and assurance audits ensuring areas for improvement are identified and appropriate remedial action plans are implemented.
Regulatory compliance
  • Acting as a source of support and guidance to managers on all aspects of regulatory body compliance including CQC registration and ongoing compliance requirements.
  • Under the direction of the Head of Clinical Governance, ensure that all business areas are correctly registered with the relevant regulatory authorities.
Safeguarding:
  • Supporting the named safeguarding leads in the promotion of the safeguarding agenda throughout InHeaIth.
  • Under the supervision of the named safeguarding lead, support managers and staff in the management and reporting of safeguarding concerns.
  • Participate in the staff safeguarding support sessions
  • Support with the running of quarterly safeguarding board meetings.
Your experience:
  • Worked within a health or social based governance, regulatory or compliance-based
  • role within the UK, ideally for a minimum of 2 years.
  • Familiar with investigating incidents in line with the PSIRF methodological tool kit. Experience of complaint handling
  • Some experience working within a complex healthcare environment requiring
  • influence and communication at multiple levels
  • Experience using a risk management software platform and competent in the use of MS Office Suite Applications
  • Previous experience producing complex reports intended for both internal and
  • external use
  • Experience delivering training on a range of quality improvement topics is desirable
  • A relevant professional qualification (or working towards) is desirable
