Job Title: Client Portfolio Manager – Private CreditBusiness Title: Senior DirectorLocation: LondonOverviewBarings Client Portfolio Managers work in close partnership and coordination with investment teams and sales as well as other stakeholders within the organization as subject matter experts, focusing on business development, client servicing and product development for certain investment strategies.The successful candidate will be a senior member of Barings’ Private Credit Client Portfolio Management team in Europe, supporting all Barings private credit strategies (global private finance, capital solutions, infra debt, portfolio finance, structured finance and private placements), with a primary focus on global private finance/direct lending. The role will report to the Head of Client Portfolio Management – Public Fixed Income & Private Credit. This position will be located in London. Primary Responsibilities Serve as the primary business development liaison in Europe for Barings Global Private Finance strategies in particular, and Barings’ private credit strategies more broadlyCommunicate investment strategies internally and externally with the goal of growing assets under managementDevelop a close partnership with investment teams in order to deepen knowledge and expertise and be effective as a portfolio manager proxy in interactions with sales colleagues and clients. This will include:Attending investment team meetings Serving as an active participant in meetings with current and prospective clientsResponding in a timely manner to client and prospect requestsHelping to determine and negotiate key terms for relevant funds/investment vehicles managed by BaringsOversee the creation of all marketing material including fact sheets and pitch books for relevant fund offerings.Review reporting materials for existing clientsReview and provide strategy specific responses to RFPs and DDQsHelp to lead and develop more junior members of the Client Portfolio Management teamIdentify, participate in and coordinate new product development and positioning initiatives for private creditCreate Thought Leadership materials in cooperation with investment teams and Barings Marketing staff Qualifications University degree or equivalentSignificant relevant work experience, preferably in either an investment management or investment specialist/product strategist/client portfolio manager role with some experience in private credit.A passion for financial markets and proficiency in fixed income specifically with a high level of technical acumen/ability.Excellent oral and written communication skills including an ability to assess and convey market dynamics, portfolio strategy and risk factorsAn aptitude for public speaking in a variety of settings and audience sizesAn entrepreneurial drive and desire to be a team playerStrong organizational, facilitation and collaboration skillsWillingness to travel #LI-JB1
