What this ultimately means in plain-speak is that we place our customers, and theirs, at the heart of everything we do, creating hyper-personalised experiences that help businesses to engage better and win more.Ongoing growth and a number of exciting new opportunities mean we’re seeking a dynamic, strategic and experienced Client Director with a passion for working in a close knit, integrated marketing communications agency where you can make a big difference leading, developing and growing some of our most important, high growth key strategic client accounts with a strong emphasis on our ABM (Account Based Marketing) and DBM (Deal Based Marketing) service areas.About you:Are you a natural account grower with a proven track record of winning and retaining business? Experienced in strategic account development and devising and leading ABM or similar strategically-led marketing programmes on behalf of clients? Comfortable in running integrated marketing and sales programmes for global clients? Able to cut through jargon to get to the single-minded challenge and translate this into a comprehensive brief?This role at JPC is so much more than about just servicing our clients. It’s about spotting the opportunity in every conversation, about really listening to our clients so that you pick up on the problem behind the problem. It’s about learning to lead the client, with confidence, gravitas and articulation.We’re looking for someone with a growth mindset to spearhead some of our most important accounts, partnering closely with members of our senior leadership team across strategy, content and creative. A strategic thinker yourself, you will be comfortable with a good selection of disciplines, but specifically ABM programmes, demand/lead generation, bids and tenders and sales enablement programmes, as well as all of the brand building and value proposition development skills that run through these. You will also be fully accountable for all relevant commercial aspects; setting and managing client budgets,taking overall accountability for P&L across your key accountsand ultimately seeking out every opportunity to upsell within the client account through exceptional client relationship management and internal orchestration to ensure we meet the goals we set out.You will be confident in capturing client requirements, pitching back ideas to them and proactively working with them to ensure JPC is embedded at the core of their agency ecosystem. An ability to confidently engage at all levels of our clients’ business will be essential – you need to be as comfortable leading a discovery workshop as you are inspiring client account teams to use and embrace new sales tools.Equally important will be a natural ability to work collaboratively and effectively with other internal agency business units to establish and achieve client growth targets, and - crucially - to lead and develop a team capable of doing the same. You’ll take on more junior direct reports, so we want you to be a natural mentor and genuinely find joy in teaching and upskilling others.Core Purpose:To deliver client delight to retain and grow opportunities, through ensuring the highest level of customer experience and satisfactionTo lead the account teams in delivering client projects on-time, on-budgetTo help identify and convert new business opportunities to meet both your organic and account stretch targetsTo drive project gross-profit with tight cost controlTo lead and develop your team to do the sameFull Job DescriptionCLIENTS & ACCOUNTSLeading client accounts within the agency, with overall responsibility for developing the client agency relationshipEnsuring the profitability of client accountsEnsuring assigned client accounts growYoYTake full ownership of and responsibility for your client P&Ls, securing recurring revenues and accurate longer term budget certainty where possibleReporting key financial and team data to the agency’s senior leadership and Operations departmentUpdating agency systems and maintaining up to date client account informationMaintaining a detailed awareness of relevant market trends affecting their accountsBRIEFSWorking with the Strategic Growth Director and Managing Director to interrogate client briefs by challenging and asking questions to develop briefs that meet business needs in an effective and accountable waySupporting the Strategic Growth Director in writing inspirational briefs and going on to direct the strategic development of creative work alongside the Creative Director, presenting and selling this effectively to clientsTEAMLead account team members and coach them to be capable of fully understanding the client needs, orchestrating requirements, completing adminManaging the work and performance of team members working on your key accounts, communicating any outstanding issues to the Head of Client Operations DirectorLeading and inspiring those outside of the core team, including creative teams and contracted freelancers assigned to your accountsInvolved in recruitment and selection decisions as your accounts growNEW BUSINESS/ACCOUNT GROWTHIdentifying, developing and converting new business opportunities with existing clientsWorking with the Head of Client Operations and Managing Director (and/or others) to negotiate contracts and fees with client leads and client procurement personnelPreparing for and attend pitchesTHOSE WHO SUCCEED ARE ...Able to lead and inspire their team, the wider agency, clients, and other external partnersAble to appreciate not just short term actions but articulate a long term vision for their team and brandsGood listeners – with clients and colleaguesGreat communicators – commanding the room in presentations for example, able to write pithy persuasive emails etc.Commercially and creatively astuteEffective negotiatorsUnafraid to take charge when necessary, be decisive and then build support for those decisionsResponsible and accountable for their own and others’ workDelegates effectively to different levels of experience and people types in order to balance a varied and demanding workload, and appreciates that the team working well can achieve much more than any individualPrepared to share credit and shoulder difficulties.
