Job Title: Class 2 Driver
Location: Exeter
Salary: £16 per hour
Employment Type: Temporary to Permanent (12-week probationary period)
Job Description:
Apollo Recruit are seeking a reliable and experienced Class 2 Driver to join their client in Exeter. As a Class 2 Driver, you will play a crucial role in our operations, ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of recyclable materials to designated locations.
Responsibilities:
Safely operate and drive Class 2 vehicles to transport recyclable materials to various destinations.
Adhere to all traffic laws, regulations, and company policies while driving.
Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure its roadworthiness.
Load and unload recyclable materials onto and from the vehicle, ensuring proper handling and securing of the cargo.
Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of working hours, mileage, and any necessary paperwork.
Communicate effectively with dispatchers, supervisors, and other team members to coordinate delivery schedules and address any issues or concerns.
Provide exceptional customer service, representing the company in a professional manner at all times.
Follow safety procedures and protocols to prevent accidents, injuries, or damage to property.
Keep the vehicle clean and well-maintained, reporting any maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate personnel.
Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
Valid Class 2 (Category C) driving license.
Current Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC).
Digital Tachograph Card.
Proven experience as a Class 2 Driver, preferably in a similar industry.
Good knowledge of Exeter and surrounding areas.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
