Nights - Monday to Friday (22:00 - 00:00 starts)

Early mornings - Monday to Sunday (00:00 - 02:30 starts)

Driver Resource are currently seeking to recruit  Class 1 Drivers (HGV/LGV) to work on an ongoing basis for UPS on the Costco contract based at Crick, Northamptonshire.

Duties for the Class 1 driver HGV/LGV are -

1/2 Trunks per day to Costco stores with a possible collection on return from one of their suppliers. This is purely a driving role as the vehicle is security padlocked and only opened by store staff when arriving at the destination. The only time a driver is expected to help with loading will be at one for the Clients customers. All other sites will load the vehicle themselves.

Average hours for the Class  1 drivers (HGV/LGV) are 10-12 per day. However, weekday hours can be longer in busy periods. Weekend shifts generally tend to be shorter. Minimum 8 hours will apply.

My Client is a 7 day a week operation. We are looking for Class 1 Drivers (HGV/LGV) to commit to working either Monday - Friday or Tuesday – Saturday with the option to work an additional shift every fortnight to suit the business needs.

The Class 1 Drivers availability is taken the week prior and shifts times are texted out daily by 9:00/9:30am the day before or in the morning if working the night shifts.

This contract does now employ permanent staff so there are permanant opportunities for the right Candidates. They are a 52 week a year operation.

Day and night shifts available.

Start times from 22:00 - 03:00

Class 1 driver (HGV/LGV) Pay rates; 

                                       PAYE               PAYE WITH HOLIDAY 

Monday – Friday          £16.50                   £18.49              

Saturday                      £18.50                    £20.73    

Sunday                        £20.50                    £22.97  

The Client also offers a yearly drivers bonus recognition scheme for all of the Class 1 drivers (HGV/LGV) which is paid annually at Christmas.

To qualify for this:

A minimum of 15 shifts in a calendar month.

Zero “No Shows” (failure to attend a confirmed shift).

Zero tachograph infringements covering Driving Hours & WTD.

No avoidable accidents or injuries, and no camera activations showing, Late Response, Near Collision, following time less than 4 seconds, hitting the curb, red light violations, handheld mobile device, smoking in the cab, speeding and not wearing a seatbelt.

If a driver completes 12 months with us and is still with us in December and have met the qualifying criteria they will be rewarded with £600 in high street vouchers.

Drivers must possess the following;

Class 1 Drivers License

12 Months relevant experience on the above license

Digital Tacho Card

Driver Qualification Card

No more than 9 points on your driving license
