My client specialises in the management of discontinued insurance and reinsurance portfolios. They has assumed responsibility for a number of run-off insurance portfolios.

They offer hybrid working, with the successful applicant expected to attend the London office approximately 40% of the time, or more should business requirements dictate. All roles will be considered for flexible working considerations.
Key responsibilities:
To support the Head of Claims to deliver the Company’s strategic initiatives and objectives and be involved in designing the same
Implement internal procedures and processes to effectively drive the strategic aims of the Company ensuring adherence and consistency across the team
Support and implement the Claims Handling guidelines including claims handling strategy for complex claims and providing support and oversight to the wider team in regard to settlement strategies and management of external experts and lawyers
Provide support to the Head of Claims to ensure reports and controls are in place to ensure appropriate management of the claims process and all internal and external reporting requirements are met
Work in collaboration with the wider claims team sharing expertise and knowledge to drive and deliver their strategic aims
Directly handle Complex Claims to a high standard, liaising with the Complex Claims Teams as required, identifying and pursuing opportunities to create value and protect their position through proactive handling of claims
Proven knowledge of Professional Lines & Casualty including Cyber
Weekly reporting to the Head of Claims on significant new claims/claim movements/key milestones as well as claim KPIs and team performance against said KPIs. Regular reviews of KPIs and team performance utilising appropriate tools and systems
Attend regular meetings with claims and actuarial teams to ensure mutual exchange of information and joined up response to emerging issues
Make effective decisions when dealing with complex technical claims scenarios. To provide recommendations for claims decisions to team members
Actively revise and edit reports created by the team to create focused, concise documents
Line Manager function: Approve holidays/absences of the relevant team and conduct performance reviews and objective setting of the team to ensure all members are aware of the expectations within their role and to ensure their continued professional development
Skills & experience profile:
In-depth insurance industry knowledge and experience, focusing on advising on claims and underwriting matters for Professional Lines & Casualty
Excellent team working ethic with excellent customer service approach
Ability to manage, develop and retain talented claim professionals
Good communication, presentation and negotiation skills. Able to present on a wide variety of topics at short notice
Ability to adapt in a fast-changing environment, quickly identifying and solving problems. To effectively manage a number of simultaneous tasks and higher level prospects and be responsible for the delivery of strategic project and the timely output of your own work
Litigation experience including: settlement conferences, mediations, arbitrations, drafting pleadings, discovery and trial experience
Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite and other claims related software (e.g., Sequel and Trax)
ACII or legally qualified, or a willingness to undertake continued personal and professional development with a focus on insurance and management
