About the Role
The Claims Manager is responsible for liaising with Members in respect of handling professional indemnity claims against construction professionals. You will be attending meetings, mediations, hearings etc with Members and solicitors as well as providing liability advice to Members. You will be joining a team of 17 solicitors and legal executives. Together you will assist Wren’s Members to be appointed on terms falling within their cover and handle any resulting claims.
Your Responsibilities
Handling claims and reporting to Claims Director/Managing Director
Liaison with Members in respect of claims
Claims reserving in line with the Wren Procedures Manual
Regular re-estimation of claims
Identifying issues of coverage/late notification for consideration with Claims Directors/Managing Director
Attending meetings, mediations, hearings etc with Members and solicitors
Providing liability advice to Members
Instructing and managing the input of external legal and expert advisers engaged on claims
About You
Knowledge/Experience
Experience of handling claims against construction professionals preferably gained from within a law firm or other inhouse legal teams
Familiar with professional indemnity matters relating to construction professionals
Qualifications/Education
Legally qualified in the UK or QLTT with a minimum of 5 years PQE
