Children's Support Worker

I have a fantastic opportunity for a PASSIONATE and COMMITTED individual to join a well-established service within the Torfaen area as a Children's Support Worker.

You need to be happy to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. It is challenging, but gratifying work!!

Your role would be to support young adults with emotional, behavioural, social and mental health challenges, in an environment where they feel safe and cared for.

Job Title: Children's Support Worker

Salary: £22,308 - £26,208 plus an additional £50 for each sleep in

Location: Services all around Torfaen

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 37.5 hours a week

Shifts: Mixture of early, afternoon and late shifts

**Due to the nature of the job and the activities involved, we are only able to consider applicants who have a full driver's licence**

Responsibilities:

• To keep the homely, friendly culture and environment of the homes.
• To be able to deal with challenging behaviours when needed.
• Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare.
• Provide support for the children and young people in the home and promote their independence and well-being.
• Maintain a safe environment for the young people.
• Ensuring the safety of the students and maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of the individual's; care plan, guidelines, reward system and preferred method of communication.
• Supporting taxing behaviour safely and sympathetically.

Requirements:

• Experience as a children's support worker, or with young people is desirable but not essential.
• Experience within another healthcare or social care setting is desirable but not essential.
• You must be over the age of 21.
• You must be able to commute within the Torfaen area, have access to your own vehicle and have business insurance.
