I have an amazing opportunity for a DEDICATED and PASSIONATE individual to become a Childrens Support Worker within a 6-bed Childrens Residential service in Brierley Hill. You will be Supporting young people between the ages of 5-18 with Learning/Physical disabilities, complex health needs, autism and challenging behaviours.

**Due to the nature of the job and the activities involved, we are only able to consider applicants who have a full driver's licence and a car**

Overview of a Children's Residential Support Worker



  • Title: Childrens Support Worker


  • Salary: £24,065 - £25,625


  • Location: Brierley Hil


  • Hours: Full-time, 40 hours a week including weekends


  • Shift Pattern: 7am - 1pm / 7am - 9pm / 1pm - 9pm

The role of a Children's Residential Support Worker Role:



  • To ensure that the children are safe and protect them from risks to their health and welfare.


  • To keep the homely, friendly culture and environment of the homes.


  • Keeping on top of household chores such as cleaning & doing laundry


  • To be able to deal with challenging behaviours when needed.


  • Provide support for the children and young people in the home and promote their independence and well-being.


  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of the individual's care plan, guidelines, reward system and preferred method of communication.


  • Supporting with personal care and medication


  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with the staff, parents, Social Workers and other professionals that may be involved in the young people's lives such as Psychologists.

The successful candidate:

What you will need to be a successful Childrens Support Worker



  • Experience as a Children's Support Worker, or within a similar social care setting or with Young People is desirable but not essential.


  • MUST be a driver as you will be required to transport the young people from time to time


  • You must be over the age of 23


  • You MUST be an empathetic and relatable person, have good listening and communication skills, and a natural instinct to help others
