Chief Nursing Information Officer (CNIO)

This role will be the lead for the practice development of digital capabilities and competencies for our Nursing, Midwifery and AHP workforce across both Acute and Community teams. The CNIO is a core member of both the Digital Team and the Chief Nurse's team, with accountability to serve as advisor to the Chief Nurse. As a transformational leader with exemplary clinical credibility, the CNIO will support the Trust by providing strong clinical professional leadership to the Trust's and wider system digital transformation programme, and wider nursing, midwife and AHP strategy. They will identify opportunities to transform practice for the benefit of people who use our services. In partnership with the wider office of the Chief Nurse, the CNIO will provide expert professional advice and guidance working with key stakeholders to ensure patient and clinical involvement is truly aligned to the planning, development, delivery, and evaluation of services. This is a key role in terms of delivering our Digital Health Programme which includes our Electronic Patient Record (EPR) programme for Buckinghamshire Healthcare Trust as an integrated Acute and Community HospitalMain duties of the job
The post holder will act as the advisor and influencer and voice for nursing, midwifery and allied health professionals in the strategic direction of IT. Shaping the design, implementation and use of digital solutions to ensure the delivery of high-quality healthcare services. The post holder will also drive and lead on IT innovation and champion the development of a clinically driven information culture. They will lead and enable change, focusing on quality improvement through IT systems across the organisation. Work closely with the Director of Digital, Data and Technology, Chief Digital and Transformation Director, Chief Clinical Information Officers and Transformation teams as the Nursing, Midwifery and AHP professional lead. Implement, and optimise the use of, digital systems for the benefit of patients, nurses, doctors, allied health professionals and other multidisciplinary care providers such as GPs and Social Care providers Ensure strong clinical leadership, support change management and adoption of the digital strategy and associated transformation programmes by nurses, midwives and AHPs. Provide leadership and direction for nursing, midwifery and AHP informatics with a primary focus on clinical practice including research in support of interdisciplinary patient-centred care

Registered nurse or midwife or AHP with extensive leadership experience Master's degree level or equivalent professional qualification or equivalent experience of working at a senior level in specialist area.
Desirable
Agile delivery qualification e.g. ScrumMaster, AgilePM. Completion of, or registered to attend a recognised Digital Leadership course (for example, NHS Digital Leadership Academy/Topol Fellowship) Quality improvement methodology qualification e.g. QSIR
ExperienceEssential
Subject matter expertise across a number of key areas relating to digital transformation and enablement of the workforce Evidence of post qualifying and continuing professional development Change management experience related to the planning and delivery of work in a clinical or care setting with demonstrated success in overcoming resistance to a change in nursing practice. Involvement with regional or national initiatives which could include nursing research to support the delivery of evidence-based nursing practice Experience of project and programme management techniques and tools such as Prince 2, Agile, or Managing Successful Projects Previously responsible for a budget, involved in budget setting and working knowledge of financial processes
Desirable
Experience as a Chief Nursing Information Officer/Chief Clinical Information Officer or equivalent in an Acute and/or Community Hospital environment, supporting an Electronic Patient Record implementation
