What we are looking for;
As Stockport’s Chief Executive, you will be joining us at an incredible time. 2024 is a landmark year for us, and we have an ambitious £1 billion development and regeneration programme that is transforming the town centre and beyond. The next phase of our Borough Plan is One Stockport: OneFuture, which sets out the ‘5 Big Things’ that will make Stockport a placewhere everyone can live happy and healthy lives.
We want to build on the brilliant success we have already achieved and tackle some of the biggest challenges of our time, from inequalities in our borough to the effects of climate change. You will lead from the front, acting as the principal adviser to the council’s leader, cabinet, and councillors while providing strategic leadership to our partnerships. This involves playing a critical role in GreaterManchester through the Greater Manchester Combined Authority andundertaking the Place-Based Lead role for health and care.
This is a great opportunity to guide a talented senior leadership team, who oversee a range of high-performing services and transformational change. You will balance an understanding of the best public service and working in apolitical environment with commercial acumen and an appetite for spotting and seizing opportunities that will benefit the borough and its communities.
