Chief Engineer (Maritime Sector) - South Coast
Salary: Up to £75,000

Requirements
You must:
Hold as a minimum either the MCA Certificate of Competency or The Certificate of Equivalent Competency
Have experience within passenger ferries
Possess ideal further qualifications including: Chief Engineer Officer III/2 Motor or Chief Engineer III/2 Yacht (Y1) Certificate of Competency (with EOOW unlimited), full STCW Certificates HELM and ENG1
Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of marine equipment and company procedures
Have a good understanding of Safe Working Practices, maintenance requirements of emergency equipment, available fire fighting equipment, and emergency procedures
Possess practical knowledge of electrical engineering
Demonstrate leadership, teamwork, good English communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and flexibility for overtime
Responsibilities
Part of a dynamic Engineering team dedicated to providing exceptional maritime transportation services to passengers and communities
Ensure all Engine Room, Machinery Spaces, and Desk Machinery are in good working order and properly maintained
Lead the technical standards on board and ensure effective implementation of the Safety Management System
Oversee safety, protection of the environment, flag and classification standards, planned maintenance, refits, and defect repair
Provide strong administrative and practical support to the survey Chief Engineer in planning refits
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with the team
