Are you an experienced chemotherapy nurse seeking a new challenge? The Early Phase Oncology Research Team at Hammersmith Hospital need 2 band 6 nurses to support the delivery of our early phase research portfolio. This is an engaging role which will offer candidates the opportunity to continue to work in a clinical environment whilst developing their research skills. The post holder will be part of a multidisciplinary team including experienced clinical and research staff, taking part in a range of innovative clinical research studies, including cancer vaccine studies. Responsibilities will include the administration of systemic anti-cancer therapies and investigational research treatments, whilst liasing with the research teams to ensure studies are conducted to the highest standards. The roles are patient facing and the successful applicants will be able to make an invaluable contribution in assessing and managing the care pathways for patients participating in research. Prior experience of administering chemotherapy and other anti-cancer therapies is essential. Previous experience of working in a research team is desirable but we offer a comprehensive training program, so also encourage applications from experienced chemotherapy nurses with a passion to work in research. The post requires excellent communication skills, a sound understanding of cancer therapeutics, and the ability to work autonomously.Main duties of the jobYou will take responsibility for the delivery of clinical research treatments, collaborating with key personnel throughout the trust and network to ensure continued care and support for patients involved in clinical trials.
