Led by a seasoned and steadfast senior management team, they prioritise the highest quality of care through cutting-edge medical technology, modern facilities, and a focus on fostering inspirational leadership and employee growth.Job Role:Sanctuary Personnel are seeking an experienced Chemotherapy Clinical Nurse to join our client's dynamic and proficient oncology team.As the Chemotherapy Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will serve as the clinical expert and professional resource for the multi-professional team, patients, and caregivers.Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage direct patient care, including the safe administration of Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT).Collaborate closely with other site-specific Clinical Nurse Specialists and operate within a team framework.Maintain accurate and concise documentation related to clinical activities.Coordinate with various professionals and agencies to ensure comprehensive patient care, especially regarding ongoing care needs and discharge arrangements.Offer professional support to colleagues within the cancer unit.Conduct Holistic Needs Assessments and provide care plans and referrals to appropriate psychological care providers.Provide evidence-based specialist advice to deliver clinically effective care to cancer patients and their families.Promote a culture of respectful relationships and patient involvement in care decisions.Evaluate and assess patient and family needs, providing treatment, support, and referrals as necessary.Demonstrate advanced knowledge and understanding in chemotherapy administration and associated toxicities.Contribute to the development of in-house education and training programs, including competency-based assessments.Participate in leadership programs and assist in oncology innovations.Participate in hospital forums and committees.Continuously develop and consolidate training programs in alignment with personal development plans.
Qualifications:
Registered General Nurse with valid NMC registration.Extensive knowledge and experience in senior-level cancer services and SACT administration.Accredited SACT administration course completion.Competency in the UKONS 24 Hour Triage Tool.Post-registration course in cancer care is desirable.Excellent communication, organisational, and computer literacy skills.Ability to work with minimal supervision.
