Contract type: temporary full time ongoing positions
Hourly rate £19 to £20 per hour
Shifts: Monday to Friday shifts from 645am till 245pm/ 7am till 3pm.
We are currently looking to recruit several Catering & Chef Managers to work within schools in and around the East Midlands. You will be supporting schools predominantly within Derby, however we do have schools and locations throughout Nottingham and Staffordshire too.
Please note: To be able to work within this environment you must have enhanced DBS covering child workforce, dated within the last 12 months or on the update service. If you don't have this, you must be willing to go through one at a cost. Please consider this, If you do have a DBS either covering adult child or both workforce great this can offer a quicker start date and also open doors to more environments care homes etc.

Requirements and skills:
* Previous experience as a chef manager level within the last 2 years.
* Experience with working within large teams, and cooking for large capacities up to 1000 meals per day.
* Great communication and team work skills
* Level 2 food hygiene certificate (ideal but not essential as training is provided)
* Level 2 Health and Safety Certificate (ideal but not essential as training is provided)
* Passion for food
* Ability to work under pressure
* Due to certain locations a full UK driving license is required along with own access to a vehicle
* An in date Enhanced DBS DATED WITHIN THE LAST 12 MONTHS ideally on the new updated service programme. (we do have the Facilities to put you through one at a cost)
The Commute:
We do cover multiple sites in and around Derby & Derbyshire, so some travel maybe required. However the immediate start date we have is located within Littleover.
Working Hours:
As this is a school all shifts will be day shifts from as early as 645am till 245pm. No weekends perfect for people looking for a work life balance.
The working environment
As this is a large school you will be working with a team up to 10 kitchen members. For this position you will be required to oversea the kitchen from a senior management level ensuring all relevant paperwork is filled out, temperatures completed etc as well as supporting the team and kitchen with cooking.
Main Duties
* Work within a team to ensure jobs are completed for the day
* Putting away deliveries.
* Placing of food orders, Using effectively online ordering systems to streamline the procurement processes.
* Preparing and packaging all food products
* Assist with the preparation of food & other areas of the kitchen including pot washing.
* Supervise and assist in food stocktaking and to ensure the security of stores during all working hours.
* Adhering to all relevant health and safety requirements
* Cooking nutritious food within requirements
* Ensure a clean as you go policy is always operated
* Usage of till operation
* Prepare and present all food at the required times to the standard and satisfaction.
* To assist in the service of meals where necessary
* Always maintain a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness in the food preparation and service areas paying attention to the Health and Safety regulations.
* To assist with the input of data to the computer.
* To deliver food & goods to any building on site.
* Responsibility for close of day procedures for cashless catering system.
* To prepare food and beverages for special functions.
