We are looking for a professional Chef to join small, friendly kitchen team of a unique restaurant in Sonning Eye on the banks of the river Thames approximately 3 miles East of Reading

Role Description
As a Chef you will run a specific section in the kitchen and report into the Head Chef and Sous Chef.
You will assist in the creation of menu items, recipes and development of new dishes.
Study each recipe and be able to modify recipes to meet customers' needs and requests (e.g. reduce salt, dairy/gluten free)
You will prepare, cook and present nutritional, interesting and high quality dishes within the speciality section which should delight our guests.
Preparation of meat and fish Assisting with the management of all Health and Safety aspects within the kitchen.
Assisting with the management of all food hygiene practices
Overseeing the maintenance of kitchen and food safety standards
The hours of work vary between 9.00am to 8.30pm - with a minimum of 40 hours over a 5 day week. The Restaurant open 6 days a week (closed on Monday) and it would be great if you can show flexibility on the days that you work. The current food service style is Buffet.
Requirements and skills
Proven work experience as a Chef or cook - minimum of 1 year experience
Menu creation and recipe planning
Hands-on experience with various kitchen equipment
Health & Safety level 2 Certification
Food safety & hygiene level 2 Certification
Ability to remain calm and undertake various tasks
Be a motivated "self-starter" and also a friendly, enthusiastic team member
Have great time management skills - prepare and deliver food in a timely manner
Proof of right to work in the UK
Written and spoken fluency in English is essential
