Chef - Bradford

Salary: Marie Curie Pay Scale, aligned with AFC Band 3 (£22,813 to £24,336 per annum) + enhancements
Hours/Contract: 37.5 hours per week, Permanent, Full time - shifts are between 07:30 - 15:30 and 10:00 - 18:00 including weekends and bank holidays.
Based: Bradford Hospice

This is a hands-on role, where you will be required to demonstrate strong practical, imaginative and creative cooking skills. You will be well organised, flexible and pro-active in your approach to work. Excellent communication and customer service skills are also a must, together with the ability to self-motivate and manage your time effectively. You will have fantastic interpersonal skills together with exceptional levels of integrity and self-awareness.

What we are looking for:
- City & Guilds 706/1, 706/2, or a Level 2 NVQ in Food Production and Cooking, or an equivalent qualification.
- Basic Food Hygiene
- High levels of Health and Safety awareness
- Excellent cooking skills with the ability to develop and plan menus
- Relevant catering and supervisory experience
- Flexibility with shift patterns
You will also be responsible for assisting the Head Chef with the adequate supervision if the Catering Assistants, producing staff rotas and assisting with the recruitment of junior staff, selecting approved suppliers and ordering.
