Chartered Architect - Departmental Lead

As Lead Architect you will design, project manage and deliver a broad range of exciting building-related projects.
You will be able to undertake the design, specification, and project management of building projects in a lead role. You will lead multidisciplinary Design Teams on projects from initial conception through to detailed design, tender and delivery on site, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the quality expectations of Clients.
Accountabilities / Responsibilities:
The design and specification of building projects in accordance with current guidelines, standards, and regulations.
The management of projects through planning applications, building regulations and listed consent as applicable.
Lead multidisciplinary Design Teams as the Lead Architect on larger projects being project managed by a dedicated Project Manager.
Manage external Consultants in the delivery of projects, as part of the Design Team, ensuring KPls are met, and quality is maintained.
Proactive liaison with other Consultants and across other disciplines within the Practice.
Providing specialist technical advice and support to the Practice.
Lead discussions related specifically to Architectural related issues.
Fee generation for the Architect Department.
Lead and manage the workload of a team of two Architectural Technicians.
Professionally qualified, ARB registered Architect, with relevant degree (or equivalent), plus post qualification experience.
Member of ARB, and other professional bodies such as RIBA.
Proven, demonstrable track record in Architectural design and delivery.
Experience of working in different operational areas, for a range of Clients and service users.
Ability to organise, guide and lead multi-discipline Design Teams.
Ability to provide effective support to implement and deliver effective change.
Strong demonstratable communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstratable knowledge of the application, principles, theory and practice of Architectural design and delivery.
Good understanding of other building and engineering related disciplines or requirements of these in the effective design, co-ordination, and delivery of projects.
Ability to apply technical judgement to ensure projects are compliant with design standards.
Good understanding of the Design and Construction business or experience in working within a similar business environment.
Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp and Photoshop (or similar).
Experience across all 6 RIBA work-stages.
Good client-facing experience and communication skills.
