Charities Associate

An award-winning law firm, with a strong reputation for its Charities and Private Client practices, is seeking an associate of at least 2 years’ PQE to join its prominent Charities department. The firm has an established client base of a range of prominent universities and independent schools, local and national charities, religious orders and NGOs. The team is particularly known for providing trusted and highly effective legal services to its clients, always with an individual personal service.This will be a broad role covering corporate, commercial and other areas of the law, for example:Advising on the formation and incorporation of charities;Mergers, joint ventures and collaborations;Reviewing commercial contracts and fundraising agreements; andAdvising on data protection matters.As the role is fairly broad, a suitable candidate may come from either in-house or private practice. However, it is necessary that you have some charities sector experience.The new joiner will be expected to work closely with the well-known Charities partner in growing the practice, and be eager to take an active role in business development. It will also be required that the associate proactively begins to develop their own specialist area of the charity sector, so this role will be well suited to an associate eager to kickstart building his own practice. The firm is particularly keen to see lawyers who are highly driven and have proven networking skills.
