Due to continued growth and success, our Aberdeen based is recruiting for an experienced Chargehand to join their team on a permanent basis working on a 7 on 7 off basis.
The successful candidate will hold a current OPITO Banksman Slinger Stage 3/4 Certificate along with significant experience in leading and performing safe lifting operations, equipment inspections and cargo handling duties.
Reporting to the Quayside Operations Manager and with responsibility for Multi Skilled Operatives, the role will undertake the following duties:
lifting plans, identifying equipment, personnel requirements and ensuring individual and collective responsibilities are clearly communicated and understood in line with operating procedures and legislation.
the safe and correct use of PPE, forklifts and lifting equipment.
and verifying ROB cargo, ensuring that re-stowing cargo is recorded on the appropriate system.
the performance and development of OPITO Stage 1 personnel.
yard and gantry inspection duties, as required.
the role of Quayside Supervisor in their absence.
promoting a pro-active HSEQ culture, ensuring participation and compliance.
the team to achieve the highest standards of safety, operational performance and service delivery.
Minimum Competencies (Skills, Knowledge and Behaviours)
leadership/people management and interpersonal skills, both verbal and in writing.
to working effectively in a fast-paced environment, adapting to changing workloads and priorities, where high standards are not compromised under pressure.
based with strong analytical, planning and organising skills, and an excellent attention to detail.
to work stand-alone while a positive contributor to the wider team.
and computer literate with well-developed IT skills across the Microsoft suite.
