Job DescriptionHealth and Safety Professional to join the team as a Principal Designer in accordance with CDM2015. Candidates will ideally hold the NEBOSH Construction Certificate and have a good understanding of the construction and design processes and applicable health and safety regulations. Candidates with a strong commercial awareness, excellent interpersonal skills and the desire to continue a career in a consultancy environment will be at a distinct advantage.Requirements Qualifications:A recognised design qualification.Ideally NEBOSH General / Construction Certificate.Member of the APS / IOSH or equivalent professional body. Experience (essential):Working knowledge of CDM2015 and associated guidance (L153)5 years’ experience in a CDM Advisory / PD role and understanding of the construction and design processesClient facing experience and attendances at progress and design meetingsComputer literate and competent with Microsoft Office suite of programmes (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) Excellent communication skills at all levelsResponsibilities: Fully discharge Principal Designer duties as required under CDM2015Preparation of all documentation required under CDM2015Positive participation at relevant meetings including design workshopsManagement of the pre-construction phase of projectsAssist the Client by undertaking site inspections, reviewing construction phase plans and notifying the HSE where necessaryCo-ordinate handover of building manuals and review the health and safety file at completion of projectsThe Individual:The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate evidence of:A confident and professional manner An ability to show initiative and examples of creativityAble to work independently and manage a portfolio of schemesAbility to work well as part of a project and consultancy teamA clear and thorough communication styleIt is anticipated that the successful candidate will have five years plus experience in a similar role within a consultancy in the construction Industry.The role will be based from either our Leeds or Manchester Office and support projects throughout our North and Midlands Region which will entail travel, a Driving Licence is therefore essential.
