Category Specialist

This is an exciting opportunity for a Category Specialist in the industrial / manufacturing industry based in Lathom. The successful candidate will be part of the Procurement & Supply Chain team, contributing to the procurement strategies and managing supplier relationships.

Description

• Develop and implement category strategies that fully align with the global strategy
• Manage supplier relationships and negotiate contracts.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their procurement needs.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement action plans.
• Continually assess market trends and supplier capabilities.
• Maintain accurate procurement records.
• Manage risks associated with procurement and supply chain.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the department.

Profile

A successful 'Category Specialist' should have:

• Proven experience in procurement and supply chain within the industrial / manufacturing industry, with a proven track record of cost savings
• Strong negotiation and relationship management skills.
• Excellent analytical abilities and attention to detail.
• Strong knowledge of procurement systems and software.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Flexibility to travel for supplier visits (domestic & European)

Job Offer

• Annual salary of up to �45,000 per annum
• 25 days of holiday, plus bank holidays
• Hybrid working (2 days in the office per week)
