Category Manager£350 - £400 per day UmbrellaHackney, LondonContractWe are currently on the lookout for an experienced and motivated Category Manager to join our team in the Hackney borough.The Role: Report to Category Lead - construction and environment but will also have dotted reporting line to the Head of DLO - Building Maintenance and will focus mainly on the procurement of repairs and maintenance contracts, providing holistic support to the DLO - Building Maintenance In respect of their procurements and commissioning, supplier relations, contract management, and through to contributing to quality assurance and service planning.Contribute to commercial strategies, governance systems and procurement best practice through both strategic and operational activities, and will promote the benefits of procurement, demonstrating to managers and heads of service how effective procurement can improve service provision and add value to the Council tenants and leaseholders.Enhance construction procurement support to the DLO - Building MaintenanceProvision of procurement support in the development of the DLO - Building Maintenance and oversee strategy and its implementation including procurement of essential contracts identified as part of the delivery of the strategyOversee contracts negotiations and the contract management for major works and services procured by the DLO - Building MaintenanceThe Candidate:Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field (Master's degree preferred).Proven experience in construction procurement, category management, or related roles.Strong knowledge of construction materials, equipment, and services procurement processes.Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.How to Apply:If you are interested in our Category Manager role.
