Job purpose:
CLS recognises procurementcapability has a huge potential to contribute to cost management capability aswell as improving the value from our vendors. This role is to develop CLS’sProcurement capability, moving it from a tactical requisition-based engagementmodel to a function supporting strategic vendor-based decisions.
The Category Manager is to embracethe Procurement vision, supporting the day-to-day business activities for allprocurement aspects of CLS’s vendor engagements, across all divisions globally- ensuring appropriate levels of risk control, appreciation of businessdrivers, optimisation of costs, and strong negotiation of contractual terms,whilst maintaining exemplary standards of quality and collaboration both withvendors and stakeholders alike.
Responsibilities:
The Category Manager defines andimplements the strategy of the relevant category, whilst driving sourcinginitiatives as required, whether it is for operational, or project related workas required.The Category Managerpromotes and works within the agreed Third-Party Management Framework (TPM) andis a strong advocate for the Procurement Team procedures, while promotingvalue-add that will assist CLS to meet its targets. In addition, the CategoryManager supports the Head of Procurement in developing CLS Procurementcapabilities, transforming it from a tactical requisition-based engagementmodel to a function supporting strategic vendor-based decisions.

Researchand identify innovative procurement solutions for assigned category orinitiative.
·
Developcategory strategy plans, including road map and stakeholder mapping.
·
Developeffective relationships with internal stakeholders that support the Procurementstrategy.
·
Developeffective relationships with 3rd Parties, adhering to emerging SRM framework.
·
Leadand communicate with cross-functional teams to execute strategy and driveperformance.
·
Raiseand maintain Procurement Profile
·
Conductstrategic sourcing initiatives including fact-based negotiations (vendor andindustry analysis, benchmarks and cost structure analysis)
·
Negotiatecommercials and contract terms with support of legal and Risk Domains.
·
Mitigatecontractual risks as identified in the service segmentation and work with theinternal stakeholders to ensure they understand and ultimately own the risksnot mitigated.
·
Ensureeach treatment strategy of the vendor, used for on-going monitoring, isadequately contracted and communicated to the relevant service owner and vendorrelationship owner.
·
Supportvendors’ exit strategy.
·
Ensuresourcing and category initiatives meet the top corporate objectives of theorganisation.
·
Reportand track benefits and performance of implemented category plans
·
Leadand support the business to utilise the P2P (Purchase to Pay) system to ensurecompliance with financial standards.
·
ImproveTPM Lifecycle through a series of enhancements.
·
Supportthe remediations of any Procurement findings derived from either Internal Auditor FRBNY examinations.
·

Abilityto use strong interpersonal and leadership skills, to effective coach, assistothers with personal development, while being emotionally resilient and able tomaintain high performance. Requirements Experience & Required skill:

Minimum5 years plus in similar role.
·
Degreeand Procurement certification achieved (i.e. CIPS).
·
Experienceworking for an FMI ( Financial Market Infrastructure) is preferable.
·
Coachingexperience required.
·
Knowledge, skills and abilities / competenciesrequired for successful job performance

Contract Law and legal knowledge relevant toProcurement activities

Experience of applying Procurement skills andtechniques to positively disrupt business strategy and outcomes.
