Job DescriptionCategory Manager2 year fixed-term contract, full-time£55,000 per annum (+ excellent employee benefits)Hybrid: 2-3 days a week in MaidstoneThis is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Category Manager to join a public sector organisation based in Kent.Role responsibilities:Responsible for undertaking strategic category management across the Operational Services category.Utilise category management practices to profile, benchmark, research and assess the market, risks, competition, trends and new opportunities, to ensure continuity of supply and that best value is achieved.Ensuring all procurement and commercial practices are delivered in accordance with audit regulations, Procurement Standing Orders and EU DirectivesDesign and deliver local commercial strategies and support the implementation of national strategies to maximise collaboration opportunities.Line management of a Category Officer, responsible for their progress and development.Delivering cashable and non-cashable savings against an annual target.In order to demonstrate your ability to fulfill this role, applicants should be able to demonstrate experience with the following essential criteria:Knowledge and application of procurement processes, English Contract Law, costing techniques, EU Directives and tendering/re-tendering procurements, including knowledge of category management processes and practices.Knowledge of the government’s Find a Tender Service (FTS) and Contracts Finder.Knowledge and experience of post award contract management and supplier management.Good negotiation skills with a proven ability to be able to persuade and influence.Member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement or Supply, or qualified to at least CIPS level 4.If you are interested in this opportunity, please apply to this advert.
