Job DescriptionCategory BuyerUp to £45,000 per annum Hull, East Yorkshire Elevation Recruitment are searching for a Category Buyer to join a business undergoing significant transformation and improvements. We are searching for a skilled strategic and motivated individual to join their team in the newly created role. This is an incredibly exciting opportunity to be a part of a period of change, development, and growth within the business. Strategic procurement skills and tender management experience are essential for this role, and we are searching for a candidate with proven experience developing and managing strategies for key commodities within the business. As the Category Buyer you will manage end-to-end sourcing for key commodities incorporating both direct and indirect spend, risk mitigation strategies, spend analysis, requirements planning, market analysis, strategy development, risk management, competitive bidding, supplier selection, contracting, cost saving and performance reporting. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with Senior Managers and identify and drive innovative Procurement strategies across a wide spend portfolio. Key Responsibilities: Responsible for commodity analysisResponsible for supplier assessment & selection processDevelop innovative supplier partnerships to create a lean supply chainsCreate and develop the strategic direction for all assigned commodity groupsReview current supply base to ensure “fit for purpose” against strategic objectivesEnsure Long Term Agreements (LTA) are in place for all strategic commodity groupsReduce or eliminate all non-value adding activityIdentify Supplier cost savingsManage tactical escalation of supplier issuesManagement of Supply Chain activities related to NPD and Engineering changeIdentify areas of risk in the supply chain, effectively prioritise, develop and implement plans to mitigate such risksConduct logistic analysis to determine most cost effective, efficient modes and methods with both suppliers and customersMonitor and report Purchase Price Index (PPI) to create and implement improvement plansExperience Required:Minimum 3 years purchasing experience within the manufacturing industryComputer literate (MS Office)Good written, verbal and presentation skillsExcellent negotiation skillsProven ability to develop and execute Commodity StrategiesExperience of International Purchasing (preferable)What's on Offer:CIPS TrainingPension SchemeCareer developmentProgressive strategic procurement projectsElevation Recruitment Group’s Procurement and Supply Chain division work with a vast range of businesses across Yorkshire and Humberside, Lincolnshire and East Midlands regions.
