The Company provides a turn-key service from in-house design, manufacturing and planning to site management and installation. Mivan's facilities include a 110,000 sq.ft. factory located in Co. Antrim, Northern Ireland, equipped with the very latest design and manufacturing technology. The opportunity has now arisen for a highly motivated and experienced person to fill the following position, based at our Head Office in Antrim:
Category Buyer
The role of Category Buyer provides procurement support to our UK Land and Global Marine Projects and assists in providing good value to the organisation.
The primary activity of the role is to process requisitions and procure a wide range of goods and services as specified and requested by project teams within budget and within timescales from an approved supply chain, while also ensuring best value is achieved.
Duties and Responsibilities of the role:
Initially, the primary activity of the role will be to process requisitions and procure a wide range of goods and services as specified and requested by project delivery teams.Due to the evolving nature of the department, it is envisaged that in time, this will become less of a focus for this role.
Ensure all goods and services are procured within budget and on time, from an approved supply chain, while also ensuring best value is achieved

dentify fast moving line items and trends in materials and services consumptions, and implement effective processes for category management
N
egotiate and establish contracts and SLAs with key suppliers to ensure best quality, service, delivery and price
Produce relevant and accurate reports and KPIs around consumptions, expenditure and supplier performance
Assist in the implementation of good purchasing practice and procedures conforming to ISO, Industry Standards and the Company Quality Management System
Please note, this role may involve some UK travel to specific project or supplier locations to engage with the supply chain and to ensure the performance of contractual material supply is being upheld.
Applicants must have a 3rd Level qualification in a relevant Business, Construction or Manufacturing discipline with 3 years previous experience in a similar procurement role. Applicants should have experience of using a procurement IT system and competent in the use of MS Office. It is essential that applicants have excellent communication, negotiation, team and organisation skills.
MCIPS qualified or working towards qualification and previous experience working in a construction or manufacturing environment is not essential but would be advantageous.
