Catastrophic Injury / Large Loss Fee Earner – Solicitor or Legal Executive - £1m+ mattersCatastrophic Injury Solicitor or Legal Executive - LiverpoolJoin an award-winning catastrophic injury and large loss team within a major insurance litigation firm in Liverpool. This role offers the opportunity to work directly with a Partner, advising key clients of the firm on high-value injury cases predominantly arising from Employers' Liability (EL) and Public Liability (PL), with some Road Traffic Accident (RTA) matters.OverviewJob Title: Solicitor or Legal ExecutiveLocation: LiverpoolSalary: to £50,000Work pattern: hybrid / remote working – 1 day in office / 4 days WFH – will consider 4 days per week as well as full-timeReports to: PartnerExpertise: Candidates should demonstrate defendant insurance experience though claimant experience will potentially be considered, depending on the candidate.ResponsibilitiesInterview witnesses, draft statements, and prepare court documents including pleadings and applications.Instruct counsel and attend conferences, Joint Settlement Meetings (JSMs), and mediations.Manage a varied caseload of complex EL/PL cases, including brain injury, spinal cord injury, amputation, and fatal claims.Build and maintain relationships with insurer clients.Assist the Partner in drafting technical advice covering analysis on reserves, indemnity, liability, quantum, and causation issues.Attend court proceedings in person or via telephone as required.Delegate tasks to Paralegals and assist in their technical development.RequirementsSolid experience in complex injury or technical multi-track work.Defendant insurance experience preferred, but claimant experience will be considered.Strong team player with the ability to develop and maintain relationships.Technical excellence coupled with commercial acumen.Career ProgressionBenefit from a clear and transparent career progression framework designed to advance candidates through achievable milestones.
