Under the guidance of the Catastrophe Modelling Portfolio Lead for the Marine and Energy classes, the role is dedicated to advancing the objectives and strategies outlined by Marine underwriters, aiming for heightened profitability and fortified portfolio resilience.Location: LondonCategory: N/AType: PermanentKey AccountabilitiesTo own end-to-end M&E Cat modelling/data capture processes, maintaining up-to-date documentationTo ensure M&E exposure data standards are well understood by Underwriting and actively monitoredTo report and make data quality recommendations highlighting areas for improvement within M&ETo drive process efficiency by embedding technology, most notably Apex, within M&EEnsure processes are aligned with the company’s best practice (R&D), exceed Lloyd’s minimum standardsExcellent academic qualifications with a degree desirable but not essentialStrong mathematical, modelling, technical backgroundMinimum 6 months to a year’s catastrophe modelling experienceExperience of major vendor models RMS and/or AIR essentialExperience of / proficiency in the use of mapping / analytical software, QGIS, Spatial Key etc. desirableMust be proficient in Excel and the use of SQL
