Casual Nursery Cook/Chef* Forest Barn Nursery School by Storal* Tooks Farm, 5 Great Warley St, Great Warley, Brentwood CM13 3JN* Nursery Cook/Chef* 0 hour contract, Monday to FridayA beautifully converted barn with wonderful outdoor spaces is home to Forest Barn Nursery School in Brentwood.We are looking for passionate and ambitious Nursery Chef/Cook who will prepare nutritionally balanced, freshly prepared meals and be responsible for the safe and hygienic management of the nursery kitchen.This nursery is part of Storal, a group of nurseries across England. We do what we say we do and if you align with this approach, then a Storal nursery is the place for you.About the job:* Provide balanced and nutritional meals for all children attending the nursery and catering for children with specific dietary needs* Instill Storal Values to Food and Hygiene and compliance with the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health-Food Safety, Health ad Safety and within the guidelines of Ofsted* Ensure all children are kept safe and have rich stimulating experiences* Maintaining stock levels and ensuring stock rotation* To be aware of COSHH and follow relevant guidelines* To deputise for the Cook in all absences with the expectation of deputising full time when this is requiredAbout you:* Level 2 Food and Hygiene* Minimum of 6 months experience in a similar role* Understanding of Health and Safety regulations and COSHH* Reflecting the Storal values around responsibility, openness and working togetherWhat we can offer you:Salary: From £11.75 up to £13.50 per hour based on experience and qualifications* Storal will cover the cost of transport to the nursery setting* Annual wellness day off* Company sick pay* 50% childcare discount* Access to retail and other discounts through Perkbox* Holidays increasing to 22 days after 2 years service and 25 days after 5 years service* Performance related bonuses* Dedicated learning and development support* Access to one-to-one confidential counselling sessions through our Employee Assistance Programme_*Storal is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
