Job Details
Duties within care homes include preparation of food and beverages and the organisation of the service of food, along with understanding the requirements of special diets for residents.
Duties may include serving of meals, general kitchen and dining room duties (for example washing up, setting up and clearing away equipment and tables), and cleaning of the kitchen, it's surround and equipment.
We currently have a casual vacancy for an Assistant Cook at Ostlers House Care Home, Kirkcaldy.
All care homes provide care 7 days a week for residents.
Completion of basic bookwork and electronic returns may be required.
You will earn £12.00 per hour casual staff receive payments in lieu of annual leave for hours worked and have access to a range of benefits, including:
£12.00 per hour, plus extra payments for shift work, including weekend.

This work is about ensuring residents, service users and staff are provided with meals throughout the day.
The Person
Do you have a Catering experience or a qualification such as an SVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent?
Before confirming to your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
