We are currently recruiting for a Case Progression Officer to work for Thames Valley Police out of either their Milton Keynes Police Station.This role is a temporary ongoing position working Monday to Friday on a 2 week shift pattern (Apply online only) (14:30 on a Friday) & (Apply online only) Break length: 30 minutes.The overall purpose of the role is to facilitate the effective progression of all cases from charging decision to trial, working closely with internal police units, CPS and Courts to ensure productive use of judicial time and other resource through early identification of issues that may delay the Court.KEY ACCOUNTABILITYAccountable for the processing of receipt of Court results, identify cases for upgrade and provide early notification of results to officers.Contribute to the efficiency of information by entering, updating, retrieving and filing/disposal computer/digital and manually stored case filed information using appropriate systems and databases. Ensure that they are accurately maintained and within the agreed timescales.Use appropriate IT Systems to monitor scheduled work to ensure timeliness of files and escalate issues to supervisors and team leaders within FAST that might cause delays in the preparation of files.Communication with Officers, Justice Gateway and ERO's, to progress file in accordance with organisation timeframes.Act as a central point of contact for all agencies and provide information on repeat issues to the CJ Operational Manager for feedback to officers and discussion at Multi-Agency meetings.Provide appropriate information on disclosure, treating each case individually on its own merits, ensuring information only released to relevant parties within the confines of the Data Protection Act and other legislation.Provide a consistently high quality customer service, challenging working practices and making recommendations for improvement, whilst continually working towards the aims and objectives of the department and organisation.CHARACTERISTICS OF THE ROLEGood standard of education with GCSEs (GRADE 9-4/A-C) in English and Maths or equivalent.Recent experience of working within an administration role within a customer service environment including using databasesProven ability to use own initiative and problem solve within a team environment to make effective decisions within tight time constraints.Proven time management and organisational skills to manage changing priorities and meet deadlinesProven ability to pay attention to detail, producing accurate workWilling to work towards NVQ Business Administration Level 2Must have capability to travel to different locations within the Force and undertake all assignments in a timely fashion.Proven knowledge and understanding of the Criminal Justice System, MS Office Packages and police databases is desirable but not essential.
