Protocol are working with a Further Education College based in Aylesbury in their search for a Carpentry AssessorJob Description: Carpentry AssessorRole Overview:As a Carpentry Assessor, your primary responsibility is to assess and guide learners working towards carpentry and joinery qualifications. You’ll play a crucial role in ensuring that learners meet the required standards and achieve their qualifications. Here are the key duties and responsibilities:Duties and Responsibilities:Assessment and Feedback:Plan and assess learners’ competence in line with relevant industrial and qualification standards.Conduct assessments in various work environments, including on-site assessments, workplace evaluations, or at the college.Provide timely feedback to learners on their progress and performance.Interview candidates and examine their portfolios of evidence.Evaluate practical skills, theoretical knowledge, and application of carpentry principles.Ensure that learners’ portfolios meet the necessary criteria.Training Programmes and Workshops:Plan and deliver vocational training programmes related to carpentry and joinery.Organize workshops to enhance learners’ practical skills.Facilitate learning experiences that align with industry standards.Signing Off Qualifications:Once all requirements are met, sign off on learners’ awards and qualifications.Ensure that learners have demonstrated the necessary competencies.Record Keeping and Documentation:Maintain accurate records of assessments, learner progress, and outcomes.Use appropriate systems to track learner achievements.Align assessment practices with best practices nationally.Participate in standardization and moderation processes.Quality Assurance:Contribute to the quality assurance of carpentry and joinery provision.Monitor retention rates, attendance, achievements, and student satisfaction.Liaison and Communication:Collaborate with other staff members regarding learner matters.Communicate effectively with learners, colleagues, and external awarding bodies.Qualifications and Experience:Qualified to a minimum level 3 (or equivalent) in Carpentry and Joinery.Recognized teaching qualification or willingness to achieve one within a defined timescale.Relevant industrial experience in wood occupations.Successful teaching and assessing experience in carpentry and joinery.Personal Attributes:Ability to motivate and support learners.Commitment to maintaining high standards.Protocol are proud to be Disability Confident Committed.
