We are looking to hire one full time post.This role would involve 2 days working at the School of Advanced Study and 3 days working with distance and flexible learners.This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and innovative Careers team. As a University of London Careers Consultant, you will work in collaboration with the wider University of London Careers Service team, University of London colleagues, our member institutions and internationally-based affiliated Teaching Centres, to design and deliver the highest possible standard of careers and employability support to our students and clientsUniversity of London distance and flexible learning students are based across the world, mostly studying undergraduate or postgraduate programmes. Some of the students are based within an affiliated Teaching Centre in their home country, whilst many are independent learners completing their studies alone. Given the diversity of the cohort, University of London Careers Service uses a three-part Career Stage Framework (CSF) to represent the different levels of work-based experience which University of London Careers Service students represent; Career Starters, Career Developers and Career Changers. The Career Stage Framework informs the work of the ULCS Careers Consultants in the design, delivery and evaluation of the virtual and global careers and employability provision for our students, which enables our clients to acquire the skills and resources necessary to plan and manage their careers and to secure appropriate employment or further studyThe School of Advanced Study at the University of London brings together eight internationally renowned research institutes to form the UK's national centre for the support of researchers and the promotion of research in the humanities. The School provides a research base for an international community of humanities and social science scholars and provides specialist research training at master's, doctoral, and postdoctoral levels - locally, nationally, and internationally. The work with this cohort involves one to one guidance appointments and delivering webinars and workshops to this audience of research students.University of London Careers Consultants also collaborate with colleagues from across The Careers Group (TCG) on activities that enhance the quality and effectiveness of our services.We are looking for candidates who have experience within Higher Education careers and employability services and have a relevant qualification in careers guidance or coaching.Further informationFor more information on the role, please read the Job Description and the Job Pack.
